Our rigorous curriculum is approved by the American Chemical Society and will prepare you for a wide range of post-graduate pathways. Otterbein Chemistry alumni can be found working in chemical industry, treating patients, managing high-tech companies, and conducting research as a graduate student or in academia, among many other activities.

Otterbein Department of Mathematics and Actuarial Science Receives NSF Grant

The Otterbein University Department of Mathematics and Actuarial Science has been awarded a $1,185,537 grant by the National Science Foundation (NSF) Robert Noyce Teacher Scholarship Program (NOYCE). The grant will fund activities and programs over five years (2021-2026) to address the shortage of highly qualified mathematics teachers, particularly in urban, high-need schools. Otterbein Instructor Newcomb Makes Vaccine Possible for Her Students — and Everyone Else

Senior Lecturer Suzanne Newcomb stepped away from her piano last summer to roll up her sleeve and participate in a Pfizer vaccine study. She recently learned that is in the group that received the now-approved vaccine and has returned to teaching in-person lessons with precautions in place.
